Omg - clio pushed by lorry

This made it onto the lunchtime news on the BBC today.
Most tanker wagons are powered by quite high output engines so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the driver couldn't tell, it's a damp road with the consequently reduced friction and they're travelling in a straight line. No mirror over the windscreen facing down and the driver's seat is not right up against the screen, the car simply isn't in the driver's line of vision.Leave a comment:

Apparently I read on another forum that the lorry driver wasn't done for anything ! not sure how that works lolLeave a comment:

It is real apparantly, (altho i thought it was a fake!) i just took this from the News:
An astonishing video has been captured of a lorry driving on the A1 with a Renault Clio stuck to its radiator - and its driver still inside.
Fortunately, the person in the supermini emerged unhurt after the lorry driver realised what was happening and came to a stop.
The lorry appears to have been travelling at around 60mph in the fast lane of the A1(M) near Wetherby in West Yorkshire.
The driver apparently knew nothing about the blue Renault he was pushing along at speed.
In the video, shot on a mobile phone from another car, one of the shocked witnesses can be heard shouting, “he hasn't seen it!”
It's not known how the situation unfolded, but Arclid Transport, the lorry company, is now investigating.
A spokesman for Arclid told Sky News Online that "an incident did happen along that stretch of the motorway and we opened an investigation and reported the matter to the police."Leave a comment:

If this was real surely the car on the front would have had his hand welded on the horn and that others would be trying to flag the driver down, Know I would..
We had one of our machine embosser engineers get taken out 3 weeks ago by a Polish driver whilst on his way to us. Not as if he was in a Fiat 500... Was in a massive transit and lorry pulled into the outside lane of the A-55 and before he knew what was happening it catapulted him over the barrier into on coming traffic. Said he thought 'this is it goodbye world'... very lucky man... If I see foreign drivers i get past asap

Ive seen this happen before , the truck driver doesnt even know he's pushing along a car infront.I recon the clio pulled out from an inside lane infront of the lorry without checking their mirrors and the back end clipped the front of the cab, gently spinning the car onto the front of the cab. If the lorry driver had his radio on or was shifting at the time he may not have heard the car hit the front?? Somehow!
Either that or the trucker pulled into an inside lane and didnt see the clio having a similar effect?
Bloody scary stuff!!Leave a comment:

Definitely can be real, it certainly happens in the US with "conventional" (bonneted) trucks with even less visibility ...I wouldn't be surprised if that's a blind spot but a lot newer wagons have a downward-facing mirror above the screen to see cyclists and the like ...in a straight line and on a wet road there's no reason to feel it, and even with direction changes it might feel little different from a slightly deflated tyre on the truck...Leave a comment:

Yeah, I've watched it a couple of times now and I'm as sure as can be it's real. I'd love to know how it happened, there's no way that lorry driver was unaware of the car wrapped around his grill, imagine driving your S2 with a mope-head tied to the front.Leave a comment:
