Small motorcycle tires (pilot sporty content):

    Hello to the S2 forum.

I stepped away from the audi scene for awhile (for quite a while if I have it my way for now) and just started working on a honda CB100 from 1971. I plan on building at least two of these bikes if not more of them. The tire selection in the USA sucks for small motorcycles. The motorcycle i'm building will have a 200CC setup, and big drum brakes. I got the go, I got the lightweight but I need some good tires at some point. Avon slicks are sold in the USA but that would sketch me out running them on the street. I've been reading some good remarks about the michelin Pilot Sporty tires.

I need to figure out my wheel specs a bit better before I buy the tires but seemingly 2.75x18 fronts and rear or definately just on the fronts is what i'm thinking about now. 2.50x18 tires are normally on the fronts but i'm building custom 18 inch and larger drum discs so I can make a 2.75x18 tire work on the front with the fork i'm using. I don't want the bike to look like it's got dumbo tires and there is no 80/90-18, 2.50x18, or 2.75x18 really decent tires in the USA.

If I have issues shipping tires like the Pilot sportys to the USA I would ship them to canada and pick them up. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Some ideas and opinions? Honestly when the time is right and i've got enough $$$$$ I'll buy a good amount of them and sell them here in the states to folks if someone is willing to get them and ship them this way via canada or USA. I could even start a group buy possibly on a few forums here in the states.

Been doing a little more research.

So far a decent tire setup here in the USA that is actually in stock is IRC NR53 tires. 2.75x18 and 3.00x18 tires sizes with the right load index and a speed rating that is fast enough.

Anyone ever here or IRC tires and have use them?

I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got quattro?
