Close,
New naked subframe ready to go in, so had to change the gb mounts, wishbones, supaflex bushes and undertray bracket over on to replacement subframe.
There are heatshields for the GB mounts, and the bolts for those are tight access wise. Getting the subframe assy up with wishbones already fitted on your own is tough. Managed it by using axles stands supporting the side I wasn't lifting.
I did have all the correct tools to hand though, inc swan neck 16mm spanner for wishbone bolts etc.
Cheers,
Steve

3.5 hours, which also included turning a wishbone back up the correct way after fitting it outside the car in the dark upside down!
I was pretty pleased with that. It does make a difference when you know what you are doing and all the bolts have already been off once too.
On a serious note, I cannot recommend highly enough Supaflex subframe bushes and powerflex wishbone bushes along with new gearbox and engine mounts. The car feels amazing, tight but compliant, in control, does not wander at all, tracks nice and straight. It has transformed the car.

Let me think, providing new subframe has all bushes fitted already....
jack car up...4 bolts for ARB... 4 bolts for wishbones...support gearbox with jack...2 bolts for GB mounts. 4 bolts for subframe.. "refital is reverse of removal"
Could be a hour? Probably 2 hours with some stubborn bits, and a couple of WTF is my 18mm socket moments?Leave a comment:

spill the beans then....it'll be some kind of Red bull pit stop affair i guess

Spot Quiz How long to swap the front subframe?
Gents,
I hit the S2 hard list night as I had finally managed to get my my old subframe refurbished over the weekend.
Last nights job was to swap out the cabriolet subframe that was no good and replace with my refurbished original subframe. (More on that in another thread).
I reversed my car into the single garage at 7.45pm, would you like to guess what time I managed my shakedown run?
P.S. The drive to work this morning was magic!

Cheers,
