Agreed, but done over the last ten years, and it hasn't been easy. Funds are tighter now as well.

Sorry, but not everyone has space and/or money to keep 10 cars to run 1.

    This is what Porsche does for it's costumers;

I do agree Audi are being greedy with their stance outlined above, and I do acknowledge that parts cars are not a complete answer to the problem, but having one is a good start.

Especially before prices go up further as they do seem to be increasing on average compared to price in the last few years.

My only regret is that I didn't get / get into UrS6 cars years and years ago.

There will come time when it won't be just grills and that sort of bits and bobs, it will start to be some major parts that we need to keep these running. Or 3rd party companies will make them, but charge you a leg for it.

This was one sad day for me as an Classic Audi enthusiast.
I was surprised to receive a phone call today from Audi Tradition They said they are really looking into my complaint and to be rest assured, in a matter of time the Audi Tradition website will be OK. It will take months but it will be OK. They have forwarded all my complaints to the proper Audi staff and the website will eventually be fixed.

The other matter - the availability of parts. The guy said that if the parts supplier company has decided not to make any new parts then that's the end.
The guy said no way would Audi talk with the supplier to make new parts. That it's impossible. The guy said that it's not economical to build N/A parts so no way Audi or the parts supplier company will make new parts.
At that point I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It's like I want to sell all my funking audis and buy a proper 635csi or 850csi and funk audi with all their cars.

I told the guy that I went to Woerthersee this year and I saw an Audi B2 , mint, with no grills in the front. I told him that we need optical elements for our car as they are the first parts who deteriorate and get damaged in crashes. And I gave the guy from Woerthersee as an example and also me, I am looking for some b2 lateral trims for years with no luck.

I also told him that Audi should reconsider this position as other brands like BMW or Mercedes supply parts for their classic cars.
(As an offtopic I bought an E30 for my birthday, and decided to do a running gear upgrade. So see in the picture the parts I've ordered directly from the shop. Everything came. Absolutely everything.)

The guy offered me 2 solutions, one to go to Audi dealership or Audi Tradition and search for parts, maybe they are there somewhere or option 2, search on the Internet. He was felling very confident that if I will look on the Internet I will find my parts.

So there you have it. Confirmation that Audi will not make new parts for our shinty cars and no way in hell they will be bothered to make new parts.
    Why? Because it's not economical.

Is it just me that I want to sell everything Audi related?

By the way, I see no point of sharing this thread with Audi now. Their position is clear.

My issue with Audi Tradition is that it is completely pointless. They have miss-understood what owners of their heritage cars actually want - which is simply to just be able to buy the pars they need for their cars when they need them. I can't actually articulate the contempt I have for Audi over this issue of obsolete parts. I actually now go out of my way to slag them off to anyone who will listen. Would I ever buy a new Audi? No ****ing way.

It should be like Porsche Classic or Jaguar Heritage where its purpose is to provide parts & service for cars no longer supported by the dealer network, not make it more expensive and difficult to source parts that were already available anyway.
Instead as Rob posted before, all they seem to do is collect all the already available stock of old stock parts and mark the price up. It's like a clearance shop, except they don't offer bargain prices, hell they don't even offer reasonable prices.

With their shockingly bad webshop and ridiculous shipping pricing where customers are charged the same shipping price for a steering wheel badge as a body panel.
Where they do reproduce parts for example the RS2 grill clips or URq front wings, the quality is appalling compared to the original, and yet the price is higher. It is offensive.

Audi, if you are listening - YOU SUCK! :corey:

    1: slow speed
2: search function does not woork so good, unless you have right part number.
3: i cant order anymore, need to be audi approved or something. anyone else that have this problem?
4: should translate all of the site.
5: and fix the problem that site crashes after some time browsing.

But it is great that this site exist.

The way I see it a company like Audi should embrace their heritage and considering how much money they probably make each year they should take a bit of a financial hit to enable the people doing the hard work on these cars to actually do it. Seeing a lovely looking MB Quattro at an Audi organised event isn't going to convince me to buy an A3 diesel but still, I imagine there are some less tangible benefits to giving other people the ability to restore/maintain their classic models.

I suppose to the man on the street Audi's heritage means the Audi Quattro and maybe Audi RS2 to those with a bit more automotive knowledge. But surely anything other than the mundane 90s stuff (I doubt something like a 1998 A4 quattro will ever be held in high regard, even if in another 20 years all S2s have run out of replacement parts!) deserves to be kept on the road in working order.

So either they don't give a s*** - hence the dreadful website - or someone at the top is being fed bulls*** about the performance of their Tradition dept. - hence the continued s*** performance of their s*** website.

But to put it less rantingly, these are my qualms with Audi Tradition:

    1) Slow website loading speed.

    2) Inabilty to have more than one tab open in my browser to search for say, something in their engine list and something in their steering and suspension list. The reason I tried this is was to allow one page to load up while I search for something else in order to account for point 1). However this just confuses the website and eventually each tab you have open is then looking at the same sub-section of the site and you have to go back to the start. Unacceptable in 2015, this isn't 2002!

    3) The second time I ever tried to log in to the site it claimed I had no account but I had previously bought some quattro script cloth from there. I tried the usual 'forgot your password?' section on the log in screen and although I have no right to complain about the email sent being in German it wasn't any help. Like most aspects of using the website I was going round in circles without any joy.

    4) Poor categorisation of parts available. It looks promising when you see that it's split between generation of vehicle then the type of item but you are most often trawling through a list of over a thousand parts, given the number of items per page and the number of pages to go. A much better structure for finding what you want would help so much.

What would be helpful is to get a list of key minimum parts needed for our cars...if nothing is forthcoming then we should push out instead...either that or if the cannot be bothered maybe they can provide the data to enable must to go and get them made instead.

The bottom line is that they could make the parts available, if they cared. As said BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar all manage it. There is no excuse. Greed and laziness are the obstacles here.
