Hi all.
I recently found a very cheap and effective way to make a leak test plug for my car.
I used a ink-cartridge plug coming off a Risograph printing machine. It is made out of plastic of course, but it is strong enaugh to take 1 bar pressure (which is more than enaugh if you pressure test system from the "corrugated" MAF to turbo hose) and to have a hole drilled to fit a tyre inflating valve.
Following picture will show it. Diameter is only slightly smaller than corrugated hose end (MAF side) but there is no problem fitting it using the same metal wrapper already fitted; and plastic lip on plug will also prevent it blowing out when pressurized.
The Company where I work uses dozens of those cartridges per month, so I can have thousands of those plugs at zero cost to give anybody who wants one.... problem, as usual, is shipping
