Boost gauge now wedged in centre-left vent with foam so I don't have to try and hold it or balance it on the ash tray

Rear washer fixed with a pin.

Bulbs replaced in fog light switch and diff lock switch so it's pretty at night.

There was an issue with this.

No worries Dave, I'm happy with the car. The air leaks are all normal for one of these cars at this age and mileage. The car was driving really nicely but felt like it was in limp mode. I pulled the codes and got the usual Adaptation Limit exceeded and not reached stuff so a boost leak check was the next thing.

The wheel bearing seemed to start whining on the motorway and get worse quite quickly. I certainly didn't notice it when you picked me up at the airport.

    It's all good.

My by-pass valve looked identical to yours, amazing what people get rid of because of simple problems.

If you get a gauge with the feed at the bottom, then mount the whole unit in the bottom portion of the pod, you can keep 100% of the flap, no worries...

You can do it in either side vent or centre of the 3, works whichever...

The car cruised home ok but felt like it was in limp mode so this morning I had a look under the bonnet, hooked up a boost gauge and gave it a pressure test.

This is what the pressure test found, not the first time I've seen this! Basically it sits against the headlight bracket and in the course of 150,000miles it wears through.
Replaced it with a forge item I had in the spares box

The breather system is also leaking just above the crankcase vent somewhere so I disconnected it and plugged the pipe for now.

Car now boosts 0.7 Bar with WGFV unplugged and 1.3 Bar with it plugged in and pulls nicely.

Had the exact same thing on my car when I bought the first one in 2005.

Went better with tape on mine as a ghetto fix, until I got a new one from the dealer.

If I only knew then, what I know now, when it comes to these cars !

Could have saved myself a big fortune.
