Thanks Alex - can you remember how close the inside edge was to the steering arm with 245s on 8.5J, I'm guessing 3-4mm?

I ran 245/35 with an 8.5J on ET32 and it cleared - just. ET30 rubbed. Federals come up wide too. You will need arch mods with anything sub ET30 on an 8.5 rim.

I'm a bit stuck for wheels as I can't stretch to full one offs.

Team Dynamics make some light race versions... and can do custom sizes.. ET, centre bore, etc.

Not going to do anything until next year most likely, but whatever they are will need to be 18" x 8.5J and have an ET around 20 ish... will measure properly when I can be bothered

I don't notice it now - you certainly don't hear it when moving.

You do hear it when stationary, not because it's loud, but because it's a high pitched whine which wasn't there before, and is louder under load (and of course with the bonnet open)

Certainly not overly loud, and a better noise than the OEM clatter

very happy... works very well and doesn't cost the earth to fix if it ever breaks... doesn't change the "feel" from OEM either

My 3B - upgrades just about finished

Over the last 10 - 15 years, my old 3B has gone through many changes. These changes have just about culminated in a car I like to look at and enjoy driving.

It's not really a 3B any more, but not an ABY either. I have taken bits from lots of places to make a mongrel which I am fairly pleased with.

There are still some small things to do: ongoing maintenance, lighter wheels (to my own spec, coilovers, bodywork, etc...) but for now, I will just enjoy it...
