      Thanks!
It is great fun tinkering with this stuff.
I am really lucky to have my own lift and enough room
      in the garage at home.

What are your plans with the VR and transmission? It looks like you know what you are doing.

My plan is to buy a flywheel and double organic plate clutch from FTWL Motorsport in Poland.
Get a 6 speed DQT gearbox from the 2.5 V6 TDI. Passat 6 speed shifter and linkage (needs to be shortened).
Engine wise I have bought a 2.8 24V from a Ford Galaxy which I will first run with a head spacer. Later on it will
need to get some new bearings, rods and low compression pistons.
The EFR turbo will make somewhere between 500 and 550bhp. I'll probably have Bizon Garage in Poland make
a tubular exhaust manifold for me and I really like the big plenum intake BST Turbo has.
For the ECU I have the EMU Black in mind.
(so LOTS of saving money lies ahead.)

So I am the same as you. I have a 2.8 in my car at the moment that I intend to use initially. It has stock head, ARP head and main studs, head spacer, forged rods.
I intend on using this to get the car going. I also have a 3.2 that I will slowly build into an "R30".

I used the 034 flywheel but.. "spec creep" has made me wish I used their multi disc version.

I purchased a emu black and custom loom from Norbitron here on the forum. Very good service and a top guy.

If I ever get back to the UK I will have to update you on my car!

            Jase.

                  hahahaha
The interior is OK, but the body and paintwork is in BAD shape.
Dents, rust and the paint is cracking all over the place.
I painted the bumpers with a rattle can because it doesn't make them prettier
than the rest of the car
The bodywork will be the final chapter of this build. I had Pearl White in mind,
but I think a slightly more modern colour like Suzuka Grey is more suitable.
(original colour of the car is white)

The twin disc stuff like Tilton and Sachs RCS200 have a light pedal feel,
but I hear these are on/off and not very suitable for comfortable driving.
This is why I'll opt for the FTWL option which uses the 3.0TDI twin
disc setup. Normal pedal feel with normal engaging but still high
                  transmittable torque.

Removed the mbc and booster in preparation for fitting the RS4 version.
Now I have to wait for the conversion set from Alex and the longer Goodridge
                    brake lines.

Got the final pieces of the brake upgrade today.

The pins and springs for the R8 are a bit too wide, so I need to trim them.

Stupidly I forgot to order the longer lines in black grrrrr

Could to slide some heat shrink over them so they look black

Glad the parts arrived safely Jan.
I made some spacers for these handbrake calipers to use with wider vented discs & R8 guide pins (without modification!)

                              Nice!
I widened them by 8mm because the S-type disc is 15mm and the S4 disc is 22mm.

It's VERY tight. The hard vacuum line isn't going to fit. Some flexible
vacuum hose will do the trick, but what to buy...
