Thank you, i have asked about shipping. We'll see. They have some dents etc on them but we'll see what i can figure out. It may be worth the shipping, may not.
Edit: lol, £400 just for shipping. Plus the taxes and import fees that would be a surprise when they arrived at my doorstep.
That's a big nope!!!

So, actually starting to make way. Fender bottoms fixed, big hole on the top of the sill wherecthe fender mounts fixed, welded up the entry point for the water that rusted out the passenger rear seat bottom and one of the resulting exit holes.... will fix the other 2 holes back there before the end of the week.
The best news tho is that i spoke to the guy around here that builds custom hotrods and the like regarding the sills. No problem there, will get that done sometime in the fall. I think i will have to seriously consider asking him to weld in the sunroof panel at the same time given the condition of my mechanism and the complete lack of spares for it.... it Won't be cheap but it'll be a crapton better than i can do lol.
So, potentially the metal work on the shell sorted by christmas???
Anyone know if this radiator setup was successful? I may have stumbled across a running 7a within a reasonable drive from me. More money than i wanna spend right now but certainly less headache down the road than a full engine conversion swap.
So, i am working on finding another pair of sills at the moment but i had a thought today, what about sills from a cabrio?
They are different part numbers. The application is specific to either coupe or cabrio. That said they ARE listed as available on tradition and it LOOKS like the actual difference is the internal bracing, presumably to make up for the lack of a roof....
Confirmation recieved that i can use cabriolet sills, so i'll make that order soon. And i got my hands on an AAN block for free yesterday by chance, so potentially the 7a may be back on the table???
Sills ordered. And i just realized that i am only an ebay turbo manifold and an aan throttle body away from being able to do a ghetto fantastic 20vt with the bits i have on hand.... hmmmm.
Started on patching the big hole in the floor. Not pretty but solid. Of course, as i went to finish welding it in, i ran out of gas.... at 7pm on a friday. So that stops activity till monday lol.
So monday the floor gets finished, then the seat mount, then the sills...
Cabby outer sills arrived today. They will work but there are 2 differences i note right away. There's a vertical flange on the bottom that doesn't exist on the coupe and initial measurement suggests they are 2x as thick. There must be an extra reinforcement in the cabby assembly that the coupe doesn't have. No matter, the external shape is there and the result will be a much stronger assembly overall. And this is probably cheaper than sending it to a specialist fabricator to rebuild just the properly bad areas.
Bit of a pause as i deal with a few other things and buttoning up the house to get ready for the winter but that just means i will warm myself with my welder later on in the fall lol
That's interesting to know
Hopefully there is no major drama once the old sills are cut off but, it sounds like you mean business and will sort it anyway.
Details will follow when i get to it....soon i hope. Studied parts diagrams a bit more and there is a simple angled piece i need to make for the bottom. The cabby has one more bit between the floor pan and sill. Easily fabricated....i think lol. There's also another piece in the lower b pillar that the coupe doesn't have. It's a bit more visible so integrating the two will be a bit tricky.
I'm currently in a pub near buffalo ny after driving 14 hours to pick up (another!) windshield, a sunroof assembly in better shape than mine, and lower door trims. Another 5 hours tomorrow to get home.
Also snagged some black carpets. If i can find a black dash, maybe i'll make the change in interior colours and thus open up choices for exterior colours.
Getting back on it this weekend. After an hour with the wire wheel, the floor is as rust free as it's gonna get i think.... the garage is now coated in a fine layer of rust particles....as is the inside of my nose .
the rest of the weekend will be spent trying to get the rest of the adhesive out and a general cleanup. Once that is done, the big task is to get it on it's side so i can get cracking on the underside.
And it would seem i have sorted the engine issue. I found a 7a for sale within reasonable distance from me but the seller isn't responding. So by chance i found a belt driven 40v roughly the same distance away. Again, seller seems a little less than communicative but for $200 (yes, 2 hundred!) bucks, i will hopefully be hopping in the car next weekend to get it.
And i don't think i am getting that 40v. It's the second time i've tried to buy it and the second time the seller ghosts as soon as i try to arrange a meeting time....
