I use an elora awkward access ring spanner. Other makes are available but the elora is very thin walled. It's still a pita mind.

Been 10 years since i had an S2, and they were LHD so dont know how the firewall differs. But IIRC i used a few extensions and a ratchet handle to get the bottom nut off closest to the engine. The handle was almost at the firewall..

I’ve ordered a set of obstruction spanners or more commonly known as a ‘C’ shaped spanner for them to arrive this weekend but our Royal Mail let me down……again. So a pal came round and did exactly what I’d been doing with sockets, extensions and spanners.

Finally he took one of my old 15mm spanners, ground down the outer edges of the closed end, made a grove in each side and cut it into two pieces. Then placing the ring spanner over the nut and using a chisel and a lump hammer, simply removed the nut. What a cracking idea!

As for the fuel pipes, they are now off but I very nearly just cut out the bit underneath and joined them. However I’m glad that I took them completely off. Not only did they snap in several places but they were also leaking further up in the bulkhead.

Looks like I’ll need to buy some more pipe.

Finally on with the fuel lines but had to remove the cats to get the new pipe up into the bulkhead. Not as straightforward as I had hoped.

Also put a first order in with Autodoc so the cambelt will be next.

A bit if a learning curve and a lot harder than I thought.

Next will be to put the new Miltek on.

Fitted a new BOSCH fuel filter with anti vibration mounts today as the previous one looked very old. Also the Autodoc parts finally arrived so I can get on with the cambelt and other servicing bits.
