After a camping weekend away I managed to spend a few hours this afternoon fitting the new Koni shocks. It took a while longer as I had to take the passenger side off again to fit the new shock as I bought a pair. All reinstalled and set 1 turn from full hard on the front. Now to booking in for wheel alignment.
When I reinstalled the Koni's I gave the bodys a coat of waxoyl before inserting them into the strut, I did this on my last set and its served them well.
A few pictures for reference. Old and new beefier tie rod adjusters.
New top mounts with the mount supports from Lago Blue to test out.
Im waiting to hear back from TTSroadsport for alignment now.
Greg,
Were these new Koni shocks 55mm and a direct replacement for OEM?

Yeah I had Koni's fitted for the last 10 years or so and they had started to leak oil so it was a case of replacing the cartridges. I have found somewhere else with Hunter equipment to do the wheel alignment now so hoping to have booked in for that in the next few weeks.
Ive been battling with fititng a towbar on my daily after being sent the wrong wiring loom and the car then not starting to its taken far longer to complete than planned.
Got the alignment booked in for Monday and S2 goes back on the road at last, looking forward to getting some use out of her this year. Got the silverstone classic weekend to look forward to.
nice... good work...! might even run into you at a Silverstone event this year...not literally though

It is interesting that despite current technology, one almost needs confirmation of astrological alignment prior to submitting to a shop's ministrations, to get something satisfactory that every car requires. It's not like you're bringing them a three-wheeled vehicle. Good luck.
I got a pair from LarkSpeed for £266 with delivery.
Also found anothe local place to do the alignment in Bedford. Anyone had experience with STS Wheel Alignment? http://www.stswheelalignment.co.uk/
Be interesting to know how you get on with these guys bud, I have had nightmares in the past with trying to get mine set up right seems people just can't be bothered taking the time to do it right
They seem to have done a good job, tyres are the next issue potentially. Will swap front to back and if not fit the new set I have. They said if it’s still pulling to one side after that to take it back in. They have got the alignment spot on stock with a bit of extra negative camber.
Greg, how would the Silverstone Classic work? I know its Friday to Sunday, but in reality, it would be unlikely I could do the full weekend - more likely one full day....
