  • S6 2.2T 1996, Return of the dead S...

    Hello to everybody, just bought a dead сar , it has broken transmission, interior should be restored , the body too , suspension and brakes need work. Soon begin to remove the engine, and further more. Never dealt with anything like this, but this is the fourth S6 and the second with a 2.2l engine. Wish me a luck))

    There are many smart and experienced people here, will be happy to listen to your advice , and will be happy to have any help ! I allreay reading this forum for a long time and all those projects , I will tell you guys are cool !!

    I don't think she's way too bad to restore and bring her back to life again.the interior is still in fair condition.
    Get the steering wheel for the new leather,some ding on the body can be fixed and some fade paint needs respray.
    Do the compression test to measure engine health,timing belt job,reflush all fluids and she 's good to go a lot of
    Miles if you are not going to give her some serious power.she's all set.

      The leather on the recaro is cut in 4-6 places, realy raw cuts)))
      Body is realy dead, front bumper, right front wing, rear bumper, rear trunk door, hood, need to be restored and painted, turbo is 320 000km old) , an old owner make chip tuning, so there was about 200kw like he said, thats not good for turbo or the engine at 320 000km, gearbox is broken, there are no breaks, and many more ))))

      So there is nothing like to build a new engine whit new turbo and all that stuff, make it perfect for me to use like a summer car.

          Hope you got it cheap because the previous owner appears to be an uncaring idiot. That door sill/rocker panel damage would have the insurance boys over here in NAmerica write the car off as having too much damage to be economically repaired. What you have there is structural damage.

            UrS4boy yep last owner is a as%hole

            We try to make this place bit more powerful, so insurance may not repair it, but I believe i can recover this car from junk

                This looks almost worse than my UrS.

                But there is nothing that can't be fixed.

                    Today was finally turned on the light in the garage. 2 weeks garage was without electricity, and today when I started to work again, it cut down, worked with the light from the phone .... start to demount the car ... tomorrow will continue...

                      Hello.
                      Now for me it is the most difficult and interesting at the same time part of the project.
                      I have to learn everything "from the botoom", those who have done this many times it is funny, but it's hard to me))) but it's good. Today has removed the bumper, headlights, radiator, wastegate and many more stuff. have to sign all the bolts and sort them in boxes, so you know from what part it was...

                      While there is nothing interesting here for all of you, sorry.
                      The intercooler have oil inside, quite a lot. It was expected.

                        Today, finally I put the car on supports , unscrewed the exhaust manifold (this was something !!!) , turbo, downpipe, poured old black oil. Founded in normal condition rear seats, instead of old ones

                          Just for future reference, the Audi inline 5 cylinders are numbered from front to back, not back to front, i.e. One is at the front, and five is at the back. At least you got three correct.
