Put this question on the Audifan forum, under the a6 section, to no avail.
Just wondered if anyone out there may be able to help?
Hi, sorry to bring this item up again if it has already arose recently. I have a 1998 A6 2.8 quattro and have just replaced the standard 16" wheels for 18" wheels. This was done due only to the old wheels being badly corroded, and in need of 4 new tyres anyway, and not to BLING the car! Honest!
The braking on the car is pretty poor, to say the least.
I recently changed the front pads to green stuff ones and the front discs to Brembo Max type - not drilled.
Since the changes, the braking has NOT improved sinificantly so I was looking to increase disc size. I am not really in the market to buy expensive Porsche calipers, but have seen recently, somewhere, a possibility of using the larger A8 discs.
Obviously this would necessitate movement/replacement of the caliper.
Has anyone out there carried out an A8 conversion?
Cheers.
