I've been trying to fix the brake warning just after start up.
The pump was noisy (making a ticking noise with every rev) and the bomb would hold about 40 pumps before going hard, so I assumed it was the pump that was knackered. So spent close to 400euro on a recon ZF pump only to have the warning come on again. Ahhh.
I had always done the bomb test by pumping the brake pedal immediately after switching the engine off. However if I leave the car for a few hours, the pedal is hard straight away. So now I think it was probably the bomb after all...
Is that a good assumption??
In the S2 central technical section and other links, it runs through how to test the pump, bomb and servo. The only test I haven't done is the servo one.
For the servo it says loosen the return pipe from the servo and only a couple of drops of fluid should run out. Thing is I can't see the return pipe. I can only see the high pressure supply right at the back of the servo on the top, which I think would be impossible to get a spanner on. Has anyone got a pic of which pipe this is, or can describe its location.
Thanks for your help again,
Rob
