Afternoon all,
Now this isn't my most pressing issue, given that the back end of the S2 I bought is mashed in, but without proper lighting i'm not happy about taking it out in the evening if I need to get an opinion on repairs or accelerate very quickly past young lads in their mum's corsas
.
I don't know if the headlights are the original ones. I've been trawling the posts and I know there are issues if the lights have been upgraded but I don't think this is connected to my problem. When I had the lights on yesterday evening they seemed very dim. And when i turned the ignition off they went out completely. If I do this in my 93 coupe the sidelights will stay on (whether I had sidelights or headlights on to begin with). Added to this the hazzard lights don't work at all and there's no backlighting for the dash or battery/oil gauges in the centre console. I'm going to start pulling and replacing fuses as the obvious first step, then move onto the relays.
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
I should also mention that becaue of the back end damage some water must have gotten into the back because the plug that goes into the rear driver's side light cluster is a bit of a mess. the connections are damp and rusted and play havoc with those lights. I've cleaned it as much as possible and i'll be sorting it properly as soon as I can of course.
cheers
Nj
