Just finished sorting the rear wiper problem (bloody freezin outside).
Swapped the relay from the 2.3 coupe so as to rule it out, and it wasn't that.
So I thought it has to be the motor.
I removed the wiper arm, then removed the trim inside covering the wiper motor, undid the nuts holding the motor to the tailgate (8mm) and lifted down the motor. Undo the four bolts holding the cover onto the motor, covering the gear mechanism. The motor has a screwlike worm gear that interconnects with a toothed cog that drives the wiper arm and this had lube on it which had gone all hard. I cleaned out all the old grease/lube, and greased it back up with some new lube. As haynes says refittin is reverse of removal.
Got a nice smooth rear wiper now
