That sounds like a much better option than Digitec chips IMHO.

I am a musician; ex-professional French-Horn player now teaching music with a heavy emphasis on technology and recording. I guess I'm tuned to hear things like that...

I've got my ECU back from Paul at S2 Central and I'm well chuffed... Here's the PM I just sent him.

Thanks for your help. My S2 is now much more even in its delivery of power across the rev range. It used to be quite aggresive between 3 and 4.5k and then drop off noticeably. Now it just pulls and pulls with very little input from the throttle pedal right round to 7k.

Am I imagining it or is the exhaust noise a little different too? I may be going mad, deaf or both but I'm sure it sings a little more sweetly. It's got more of that lovely 5-pot burble.

I just love the torque of the engine. What was the thinking in putting chips from the AAN engine into that ECU? (That's what Paul found in the ECU when he had a closer look). I'd love to hear more about your findings.

Many thanks once again from a very happy customer.

I removed them and put them in the best place possible.....................the bin.

Which went in the bin, the chips or the WG springs?

Paul, the WGFV and WG look fine as far as I can tell.

My guess it'll be those digitec chips, Don't remember Gav saying he'd changed to anything else, only that he'd tightened the wastegate spring down or changed it.
Same was advised to me to overcome the hesitation I got with those chips, only I didn't want to mess with wastegate springs etc.

If its 1st removal it can be very tiresome removing them... But looks like yours isn't a virgin. I should be able to tell you who tweaked it before. Meantime if you can check that the WGFV wiring is in tact and that no bodges of plumbing to that and the WG are present it would be good.

I've got aircon, first time was a right t*at. Easier to do now, so yours should be as it's been out before.

Remove the cover that extends down from the back of the glove box (2 x 8mm bolts) and remove it out of the way (no need to remove glovebox, it's a ****** the aircon glovebox)
You'll see a white slotted clip that's used to retain the back of the cover mentioned above. Twist it 90° anticlockwise and it'll come away from it's fixing stud on the bulkhead.
Pull back on the big silver clip that retains the large ECU multiplug connector, unhook the connector from the ECU and move it to one side.
Now the only real tricky bit as the ECU sits very snug up the gap behind the aircon blower housing and the bulkhead, wiggle it down and out. It's a good bet you may have to lift the carpet a bit to get it to come down.
Once down and out, remove the rubber vacuum hose that connects to the ECU (it's for the map sensor inside)

    HTH's

Look at some pics of the securing clip first, it will help to work out how it works.

Just below the GB is a plastic cover trim 3/4 8mm bolts iirc, just remove this and feel your way up the back of the firewall, you may well see the vacumme line to the ecu first
