Even easier, at least with an UrS4. You just remove the fuel pump fuse (which is AFTER the FP relay on a C4) and apply + power to the downstream (the one closest to the back of the car) fuse terminal (which is No. 17 on an UrS4/6)

FWIW, on the relay, 30 is power in, always connected to the 87A. when the coil of the relay is hit with opposing polarity (prob 85 and 86 in this case) then it switches the 30 output to 87.

    follow?

    typical Bosch style relay.

    85 coil pole A
    86 coil pole b
    30 input
87A output from 30 when not energizing the coil
87 output from 30 while energizing the coil with opposite polarity.

Ahhh recent info is better - I've been looking at these darned wiring diagrams a LOT recently... The other terminal just provides switched power to other engine components. That 87 pin is just for the fuel pump.

He he I wondered why bridging three terminals too, but was following an old post of yours when I checked my fuel filter for leaks the other week.
    It worked so

That sounds more like it, do you know what the three pins are? or why you jumper all three?

If i can find out which sends + power to the pump i can plug some juice into it.

    Thanks,

    Mark.
