I am about to reinstall a 3b to my S2, at the same time i have noticed that the Turbo Coolant return pipe is damaged (this is the bent stainless steel pipe and rubber hose from the block on the manifold side to the underside of the Turbo). Stealer says 3 weeks for deliver but want to get it fitted this weekend. I went to a hydraulic pipe specialist and they suggested fitting a bit of silicon hose by cutting the old union off add securing with a j-clip to remaining steel pipe. Has any body done this? I am worried that the new section of silcon hose is too close to Turbo and will be affected by the heat; can I use silcon hoses this close to Turbo hot side, I am not sure how much heat the silcon type hoses can take.
Have been told second hand is not really an option unless anyone thinks different. If any one has the real Macoy to sell me asap then may be interested in that.
If anyone has tips on refitting the engine to a 3b S2 Coupe PM me as glade of any help on my first S2 engine refit, hope it goes S car fast when done as costin a packet so far, complete rebuild.
