Looks like enough wires and boxes to alarm a nucular submarine

I will give a new switch ago, can any one check that this is the right part number?

Get yourself a new switch, its a common failure, some say they fail sooner if you have a heavy bunch of keys hanging off the lock..

Theres a cable that was to short so they put a conection in to make it longer

Need a new switch i think though, as the ignition stays on with out the key in
Mine was like that when I first looked behind the dash, all started when I lost my keys with the immob chip on them out of my rucksack when out on the bike . I removed several kilos of wiring from many alarms and immobilisers, found a spare key under the ashtray though .. Alarms I hate em.

    Removed in one session...

This is such a bodge, the pictures just dont show how shocking it is

    Where to start

Into the back of the ignition barrel is three scruffy tapped wires.
Over the very back through the looms etc is two red wires tapped into a connection that seems to be up right

But one of the ones that comes back is not connected to any thing

This system seems to work as you turn the car off at over 90degs the engine will run and when you shut the door it will stop (pretty **** if you ask me)

being a 3B, I was going to ask if there was an aftermarket alarm / immobiliser fitted, if it has, it sounds like that might be the problem, starting circuit / fuel pump being the usual 2 circuits...

Sounds a bit like a starter solenoid problem... try tapping it while someone turns the key.
