Hey everyone. Been browsing forums for a while and ive noticed that many, istead of going Vems/megasquirt route, using January 5.1 ECU (ECU is some sortof of bosch clone). However going through planning of all this i've ran into many issues.
1. is getting the ECU itself. It seems like most ive seen on market have some sortof chip soldered to. Can I just get January 5.1 from any scrapped Lada, solder some modchip, or do I have to get it from someone who has cracked it or something?

2. How did you dealth with flywheel timing? Ive heard some odd method of drilling into block and adding sensor, but nothing specific.
I would be greatfull for any info on this.
