I have a 2.5l GTi Engineering KV lump which i've been planning to supercharge. I've seen this done a few times to a V6 but never to a KV.
I'm sure once i get into it, i'll have many many many questions but for now:
1. Is there any way to bodge fit an ABY wiring loom to a KV? Bearing in mind, this is a series3 CQ not a series2. The main problem i see with this is APPARENTLY the coil pack system uses a cam sensor which attaches to one of the cams. I don't know if this is possible on the KV.
Otherwise, will a 3B loom fit ok? No coil packs, does that make it easier?
2. Will it run 'well' without a remap? As in, is there little point in fitting the loom before the supercharger is ready to prevent wasting a remap session?
3. Can anyone foresee major problems to do with the Wire bits?? More mechanical problems i'll figure out closer to D-Day....
Cheers in advance,
Al.
P.S. i am aware fitting a turbo would be far easier, but would also be boring
