I'm a DIY boy too
spend the money on parts rather than labour and spend ten times longer to make sure everything is clean and in good order.

Well in all honesty theres not much that it indicates that it would crack at 20K IMHO.
For me that does all (almost) the work myself on the car I'm not concerned about a mechanics prices, luckily.
But I see your point, when you have to pay someone to do a job you hope you wont be there in a nearby future having him do the same job all over again which equals to $$$.
I think it's an interesting alternative however, and I think I will have a go at it when the time is right.Leave a comment:

yes at that price it reaches the rs2 manifold when you change it every 20K,but you have to concider flanges, working hours of the mechanic, and piece of mind you wont have everytime you go WOT and it doesnt do what you want it to do(at about 20K kms...)Leave a comment:

I wouldnt really say it was an RS2 copy, its a log style manifold, the RS2 one looks completly different...Leave a comment:

A little more than none isn't very much
My EM was in good condition in November when I did the HG so I think you're right, just leave it.Leave a comment:

Yes it should flow 380bhp no problem.
Since it's a RS2 "copy" it bolts up just as stock, no customization as far as I know.
I think I will be going down that route myself.Leave a comment:

At this price I'm very tempted to try it on the k24, is it a direct bolt-in job?Leave a comment:

Yeah looks ok, You can always port it if worse comes to worse. No reason why it should not flow more than 350hp, iirc the RS2 OEM runs out at about 440?ishLeave a comment:

No idea, Jamo or TerryB usually know these things... there have been flow bench tests of lots of IMs and EMs but I can't remember if this one has been tested. Looks like a larger bore than OE but I suppose it's whether it's better than RS2, as asked above.Leave a comment:

At that price you could happily replace it every 20k and get about the same distance out of it before an OE RS2 one would crack as so many seem, to have done.Leave a comment:

well it all winds up to how people view it.I dont fancy replacing EM every 10-30K Kms with flanges, studs etc or trynig to figure out why my car is down on power when a small crack develops on the EM which is not visible, especially when i have to pay someone to do all that..Leave a comment:

im quiet happy 2 buy and fit one, even if it only lasts 10k kms at that price im not fussed, my main concern was if it could handle 350 -380 bhpLeave a comment:
