Hello, on my S2 Coupe ABY I had a same problem, my Motronic was in protection only when the overboost must start, the problem in my car was a bad MAF. Have you check if you have the same problem also with the N75 disconnected? Have you check the boost pressure with a gauge?

pulled code 00544? I wonder if the wastgate diaphram is ******ed and it's going into overboost protection mode. I guess the wastegate is stuck.

from the engine,it is connected to the green plastic vaccum hose and then it comes inside along with the bunch of cables etc

I replaced the lead from the WGFV to the white connector on the inner wing as i also though it could have been that too there is no corrosion on the copper connectors.
Another thing to add it it only seems to do it when the engine is very hot?

By Papvas's reply i think it's a boost leak just finding the dam thing.

The hose onto the ECU where does it come through the bulk head?

    thanks for your info guys,

    cheers

have you been using /working on it recently ?, when you're there reseat the maf connector and check how secure/clean that connection is , could be as simple as loose or knackered clip, but you'll better what's been changed or moved recently..

when i went out to have my car tuned,we had forgot to put the vaccum hose to the ECU and the car did just that.So having a leak or a loose hose can give you all sorts of symptoms

check for leaks at vacum hoses or tears. This sounds to me as a limp mode

as it says in the title im getting a boost problem when only on wide open throttle, i can hear the turbo spinning up but when i get to roughly 3000rpm it just dies, well more like a sudden loss of power, I have changed out the WGFV and the DV but this makes no difference......

I also tried disconnecting the WGFV and just give it mechanical boost but still the same

Could it be the MAF or Plugs, fuel pump??? or anything else i'm missing?

Car runs fine when not driven on boost

Thanks in advanced, and it's the S2 not RS2

    John
you got access to any codes, I'd have a guess at an air leak, you had a look at all the hoses, IC/PP etc,etc ?
