    i know it Bram

but change the head gasket was cost to me the same before or now... the same hours, and the same head machined ( i hope )

aniway i have destroyed the heater radiator and it was happend "thanks" to the paper head gasket

    - the oem ADU metal head gasket drops a bit the compression 9´3 to 9´1 may can be??? i am not sure if i want to install it or buy this other from 034 motorsport... who said that drops the compression since 9´3 to 8´6

i have to say too that i was wrong whem said motor block "holed"

the part with the big hole between cylinders it´s the HEAD.

as i can read here about good compressions...i think that they are not bad because in my 3 perfect condition cylinders +metal head gasket the compressions were

    - 10,2 in the middle cylinder
    -11
    -11

maybe my friend and me we are thinking that the problem with the head+metal head gasket + motor block was the bit bad imperfect condition of the motor block plane because as you can read here

i´ve smoked my head gasket and then we repaired all (metal head gasket+ all head gaskets, head machined -0´2)

motor block seems in very good condition (sure for stock 220hp or 300hp maybe yes)

but unlucky not for 2´0 bar boost with k24 7200

my 26th birthday for today it´s a sad day for me

    * i have other complete engine in spare in good working condition... we will try to mount it directly excep the 7A exhaust camsahaft.

i wish to know if i will have again the same problem with all my specs but.... i am some scared...

did someone here with RS2 specs boosting between 1,5-2.0bar with k24 7200 had a problem like me??? and if it´s not.... can anyone tell me wich are the compressions running well??

    9:1???
    10:? more??

    less???

    -Tomas-

WELL.. stupid bad luck again (

after run 3000kms with my other 3b spare engine ,the paper head gasket said "NO more"

i´ve drestoyed it under 2.0bar boost in fourth gear around 4000rpm... YES tonigh at 21:15 hours in Spain.

this is the best example for ALL 3b owners who are thinking and planing on engine upgrade projects like me.

and 100 sure that this time i destroyed the heater radiator.... , i have other spare but unfortunately this operation takes some hours of mount/dismount in the car....

    paper head gasket are complete a S H I T .

best options for repair and work fine finally???

    - 034 droping metal head gasket ( thanks Jamo ) ???

    - ARP head studs sure and ¿? main stud required too???

in 90%, i will change my ecu setup, from "Hamon motors.de" to " PK-Motorsport" thanks to the guru Peter "Kowakhs" 1´8bar it´s much more than enough for my setup. 2.0bar it´s dangerous for "stock" paper head gaskets, and surelly to stock internals.... if not...time to the time...

I HOPE IT HELPS TO ALL THE PEOPLE HERE THINKING IN UPGRADE PROJECTS.

BUENA SUERTE!!

I'm really sorry about this Tomas! But you aren't so unlucky, come on, you have a whole engine as spare! Is better that happened now than any other day that you couldn't repair it! So, drink a gallon of coffee, start that engine soon and send us a video of the project successfully finished!! BTW measure the compression to the other engine before the install, take advantage that still out from the car!!! You have to surprise us for next week! GO TO WORK! hahaha cheers!!! GOOD LUCK!

I didn't know you had gone so far with your RS2 upgrading. I am so sorry to read that you had this problem. You are lucky to have the spare block. I will send you tons of good luck for your 26th birthday and I hope to read you back soon saying that your car is running again.
    Cheers!!

Tom, I have the NM block at home, if my knowledge doesn't fails me... it is the same as the 3B, mybe it just need the hole for the turbo oil return...don't remember it now! I was thinking about doing a little table with it hehe but if you need it I could use the crankshaft for my lil' table!

Ouch Tom! Sure that the last owner was a man without interest in his old car.
Different electrofan, one new piston, broken hidraulic pump...

Sure that your head was skimmed...
Can you put 2 gaskets in there to low teh compresion?

    Compression test

The 14 sounds high, values should be between 9 and 11. links:

If 2 cyclinders are giving 0 compression then I think something is seriously wrong.
14 on each cylinder individually it´s fine... OK

but it´s 100% sure that both my non working cylinders have 0

PD: i have to say that in the moment of the rebuilt all the head, and take the motor block out for mount spec stage 3 and rs2 rod bearings...all of 5 pistons,cylinders,valves...ALL seems in very good condition

only i had fun 30 or 40 kms with my 3b upgraded with RS2 specs

tomorrow morning (sunday) must be the day for discover the problems...

thank you very much again Jamo for your info and help
