an option is a,perfect power map converter. basically uses a map sensor and converts the signals to what would be seen as MAF. never used one but heard they work ok. gets rid of the restriction too.

    gazza awaits the flame.

Quattro Corner can probably get MAF's as well I'd have thought. I've been using an RS2 MAF on my ABY and had no bother whatsoever with it at all and was a straight swap.

find a bosch distributor and give them your old one in exchange for a recon one. No doubt new would be better but Prob. The cheapest option.

Hello, here in Italy a original Audi RS2 MAF directly from Audi dealer cost about 240 €, now I want ask how much cost from Audi dealer in Germany and from Porsche dealer in Italy, if Porsche dealer can have this MAF that is the same of Porsche 968 3.0 I think, on the RS2 MAF there is a Porsche part number.

No that crunching noise was the credit crunch... VAGparts couldn't sustain their pricing direct from Germany as a result of the immense surge in the Euro last year. Since then - all the part prices have increased when buying in the UK.

The other problem is that sometimes when Audi spot there is a popularity spike in certain parts they put the prices up... Happened on RS2 ARBs and other things - and seemingly now the RS2 MAF.

Did anybody else hear that crunch? It was the sound of Paul's foot giving me a swift kick to the knackers!! £120? That's a frickin steal... Shame they ain't around no more.

I did ring around, and with the discount they were by far the cheapest, without discount they were all about the same! If I'd have found a small, independant place offering them then I'd have happily gone to them, I despise having to use main dealers given their rates - sadly nobody knew of any good places! Will let ya know the outcome once it arrives

Wow - have prices whizzed up or what - I paid £120 last year for a brand new RS2 MAF from VAGparts (RIP) last year...

Thanks for the replies guys, took the plunge last weekend and ordered an RS2 MAF from Warrington Audi. £198 all in, thanks to some friendly discount, should have been £228 without it, but it's less than an S2 item strangely enough, so if it solves the problem, most definately worth it...

You can do that but its not recommended at all.

I had a similar idea when my maf died a few years ago and was quickly advised against it by everyone on here.

Just buy a new maf and your engine will not die a horrible death.....
