Hello peeps.
Having some problems with oil going out from the engine.
More specifically the rear breather thing on the block.
Atm i have a hose running from the rear of the cylinder head going to a cathtank.
Then i have a separate hose going from the block to a catchtank and then from that via a return line to the sump.
Problem i have is twofold.
1. Top breather troughs out some oil but im pondering to just block that of and went from the front of the head.
2. My car troughs quite a bit of oil from the block. It runs back to the sump but when i hit the throttle in tight succession at slow speeds it fills quite rapidly so then i have to take it a bit slow for a while so that the oil can flow back to the sump.
What i gather a big part of the problem is that the rear vent is looking straight down into the sump so when you nail the throttle the oil moves backwards and out of the hole? Ideally you would want to run dry sump but seeing as that is quite an expensive solution i would like to try other solutions first. I haven't really looked into modify the sump pan yet. Car is built to be used on track but at present i haven't dared to take it to any trackdays because of this issue.
What have you other guys done regarding this problem? I know allot of peeps here in sweden that run there cars on the strip and such just top of between each run. Dosent quite work out like that on track though
