If the ABY wiring "plugs" directly into the Walbro, I suspect the pump you replaced was no the original ring-terminal VDO but an aftermarket Bosch (with a plug)

I don't remember the exact diameter.
I wrapped some old rubber hose around it and soldered on the connector provided.
With the hose wrapped around it fit very firmly.

Not really the perfect way to do it, but it is very securely mounted.
Thuppu provided an alternative - destroy the original pump.

    You are welcome.
I am running this thing for half a year or something now - no issues, and it's silent.

The guy has 1342 feedback, 100% positive from selling these pumps.
Be aware though, since it's thinner than the stock pump (just like the walbro one), installation is not plug and play.
The wiring harness was different on mine as well.

Luckily you get the connectors with the pump. I cut off the old Audi connectors and soldered on the ones provided.

I am using a replica of the Walbro 255lph...
Well, actually it's better than the real thing - it's a NipponDenso pump.

These hold to 450-460hp when relayed.
The advantage in front of the 044 pump is that is not as noisy.
However, the 044 pump can go way more than 450-460hp. So it depends on your power target.

The walbro isn't direct fit in the UrS4 fuel basket, don't know if the ABY basket is different..? The walbro is smaller than the stock pump so you have to put something that holds it put in the basket. I put the walbro inside the stock pumps housing. Had to destroy the stock pump of course... It's good for 400hp, and if you are lucky maybe for 500hp. If you want to be sure, buy a 044.

They aren't as good as 044 pumps, Faheemo had one car was leaning out, changed to 044 was fine, reported cases like this from a lot of places however depends on your bhp target up to 400 bhp I dont see a problem with them.
