Well she passed ( but with some " advisories " ) and on the new VOSA form that looks like I designed it ! ( but they are apparently informed too, so its not all bad...).
On the way home, ( I drove for an hour or so to get there , to get the cats hot) suddenly it starts misfiring under boost at low revs ( 2,500 ). Bl**dy H*ll.
( The ( ABY) S2 has gone there for 9 years. They have also looked after my Mk 2 Golf and 90 NG quattro, plus " her indoors's " cars for at least 20 years). They leave it running on part throttle before the emissions test, so it gets very hot....
When I could finally get out there today, all the "usual suspects" were checked :-
Plugs ( tight) , coil plug boots ( perfect, no oil leaks ) , coil packs, MAF connector, and every other electrical connection I can reach, etc etc. and also unplugged the " moteur fuses".
Its now running perfectly again, Whew ! But why the hissy fit having been left to really heat up ?
Major worry is the rear subframe which is now badly rusted ( not mentioned last year ). Anyone tried David Batty in Compton ( nr Guildford ) for Waxoyl treatment ?
Cheers, James.
