Dutter racing, has listed 9200 rpm, in his 2.5 stroker, it has a gt42, now upgrading to something larger , curenttly around 1000hp. Also, i have my engine unopened for 2 years, and still holding, reving to 8500rpm, rpm and sometimes hitting 9000rpm (first gear) with 95.5 cranck and long block. For rod ratio, there are some high reving hondas with 1.5x ratio, like type R B18C , and it holds fine. So it works, but depends on if is worth it or not, maybe with a close ratio gearbox in 8500 rpm, is more than enough, for almost any turbo setup. -
Hydraulic lifters collapse somewhere above 8500RPM, even when modified solid.
Did Jonus tell why not to use 92.8 stroke?
We have done 10 000rpm, but only with 86.4mm.
All of who have not tried +9000rpm revs, I assure You, it is not as simple as changing rev limiter, especially if You have setup that flows and turbo that keeps pushing full boost at those revs.
I am not saying I doubt +9000rpm with stroker, but I would love to see some evidence. Stroker + proper flow and proper boost at 9000rpm should be outrageously powerful. Mind we got almost 1200hp on dyno and +1300hp on track from 2.2 liter and 9600rpm.Leave a comment:

At high rpm there is no problem wit filling the lifters with oil. The problem are the springs - they cant return the valves. That's why we put strongest one. And the valve seats - to do not burn, or/and make valves jump. That's why we use beryllium copper. For guides too. That's my opinion...Leave a comment:

There is a 5.5mm stem intake valves mateI'm running 236block 95.5 crank lightened to weight of 86.4crank. Rod ratio of 1.66 and rev to 8000+rpm on stock oil pump. If I went dry sump I quite happily take that to 9500 peak 9000 continuous.
At a push I'd say 10,000 but the head wont shift the correct airflow to support it on a turbocharged stroker without enlarging valves. Whereas in an ideal world at that rpm you want to keep stock valve size or even smaller to help lighten the valvetrain for high rpm.

I will go same way this spring. Will use diesel block, diesel crank, H beam rods 158 or 159mm. + 83mm pistons and 4th stage dry sump pump.
Some time ago I asked here in the forum, and it became clear that 9000 RPM are no problem even with original oil pump, but with CrMo wheel.
But I will go to a dry sump and mechanical lifter + at list 1mm oversized valves and fuly headwork/port.Leave a comment:

not so many people know this stuff if speaking about 9k rpm, not to mention the Diesel crank! at such high rpm. you could also ask Repo and then make your decision
