You need to use google a bit more my friend
Advantage is that, you don't get lag between gear shifts, so it's faster in a straight line.

Because normally you close the throttle and that slows down the turbo.

for the moment got one complete clutch and 01E spare trasmission as spare.

what are the advantages of the flat shift? would be good on a GTX3582 with meth?

You can get going with ALS and have the turbo fully spooled and flat shift through the gears.
This is a truth, I was thinking street drivability.

Anyone know what size the wheels are on a gt35 and 42?

What power are you after? That'll give people an idea of what to recommend to you.

    That is why I recommended gtx3576r - it's spools faster than 82r.

3576r uses gtx3076r front wheel and 3582 back wheel - so it's a bit smaller than 3582 and much more efficient in low rpm...

only back side is the price gtx3576r is just been recently released to fill in the gap between gtx 3076r and 3582 and it has bigger price.

    for example:

It was going to be a daily driven car but I've chosen it to be a weekend because of the turbo choice but I guess it shouldn't be too bad on a 2.3 as my golf was 1.8 and that was running a gt3071r.82 Ar and that was ok for day to day. My short block is built up so far but might have to change a few things depending on power I want but that's not a problem.my goal get it sprayed and make it quick as my pockets allow and enjoy the 5 cylinder sound

I have driven a S2 using that turbo, but it had some issues and it didn't seem to work 100% fine. I can't tell you too much because I didn't have the chance to test it fine, as I only drove it a little bit and, as I said, the car wasn't working 100% fine. But I don't think it is something suitable for a daily driver because, although offboost the engine run smooth, it is a big turbo and it spooled quite late (in spite of some interesting bits in the engine, intake and exhaust). But, once on, it earned rpms amazingly fast, even driving in a long gear, and it earned speed faster than anything I have driven.
What are your plans for your car (power, investment, use of the car...).
    Cheers.
