Thanks. I was thinking of that thread when I posted but didn't bother to search for it. So thanks.

I see someone else got much less than 3600 ohms at WOT too. I will test the TPS on my 98 C4 Avant today (V6 but I think the same TPS) just for fun.

    Definitely helps. Thanks.

I think my AAN throttle position switch is a 078133154 which also is found on the ABY, and ADU and the ABC and AAH V6s, plus others, including the S6plus V8. The 034133154F is the 3B throttle position switch.

Based on your numbers mine is not too far off.

I have 2 throttle bodyes here plus the one from the car...but that i cannot measure right now.
    The other 2:
one with 078 133 154 part number has 1017 ohm at idle and 2800 at wot
second with 034 133 154F part number has 1046 ohm at idle and 2860 at wot
I am pretty sure that these readings are ok.....never heard of 3600 ohm at wot..
    Hope this helps!

My test results (could somebody check their WOT ohms?)

Pin 1: A red wire that also connects to T12/55 in the ECU which provides 5V+ to the G69/F60 combination as well as the F96 Barometric Pressure Sensor and the G40 Cam Position sensor. (Note: The Bentley incorrectly calls the Pressure Sensor the "G16" but there is no such "G16" device for the AAN).

I got 4.99 Volts with the ignition ON

Pin 2: Green wire with a Black stripe - goes to ground connection 5 in the engine harness.

I got continuity with ignition OFF, i.e. ground is good

Pin 3: Gray wire connected to pin T53/55 in the ECU - the signal is the 5V+ modified by the variable resistor in the throttle position switch which tells the ECU the degree to which the throttle body is open, which helps the ECU compute "load".

I got 4.80 Volts with the ignition ON

Pin 4: Brown wire with a red stripe, goes to ground connection 2 in the engine harness.

I got continuity, i.e. ground is good

    Pin 5 - not used

Pin 6 - Violet (purple) wire that connects to pin T52/55 in the ECU that tells the ECU that the throttle is closed (via the microswitch in the diagram shown above).

I got 9.47 Volts with the ignition ON. (I honestly don't know why the reading is that high (4.99+4.80 = 9.79 so 9.47 is curiously close).

Testing the F60 Closed Throttle (Idle) Switch is as follows:

Across Pins 4 and 6 on the switch:
Closed = 0 ohms (continuity) Connector off, I got continuity
Open throttle (slightly) = infinite ohms (open) With just hearing the audible click of the microswitch, with very little throttle movement, I heard the click and got and open circuitIf either fails, adjust switch as per procedure above.

Testing the G69 Throttle Position Potentiometer:

Across Pins 1 and 2 on the switch:
Must be 1500 to 2600 ohms I got 1975 ohms, so okay

Across Pins 2 and 3 on the switch:
Throttle closed = 750 to 1300 ohms I got 1019 ohms, so okay.
As throttle is opened from closed to WOT = increase to 3600 ohms
If NO, replace sensor. I got 2670 ohms at WOT. Hmmm....is 3600 ohms a typo or do I have a borked TPS?

Can someone check their WOT ohms and report in?

  • G69 / F60 Throttle valve position potentiometer /idle switch Test Sheet

I extracted the info from my G69 / F60 Throttle valve position potentiometer /idle switch information post and created the pdf linked below. I am taking it out to my UrS4 now just to confirm a few things. Results in few minutes.
