Care to enlighten and humble me?

    Please?

Map sensor will tell more.Or get a boost gauge+wb afr and be on the safe side.

I have been recently informed that this chip set should run fine on a stock turbo.
Still a little uneasy about this but its worth a shot with a boost guage attached..

4HP-18 can handle much bigger number of torque as long as you didn't abuse or launch it from stationary.just baby it from the first rolling and it's good to go.

True but there is at least some firm evidence that MTM modified the TCU *AND* the strategy I have described to reduce the stress on the 4HP18 autobox isn't something I just made up. It is used by many luxury automobile manufacturers, typically as a means to make the shifts smoother, more luxurious and less obtrusive.

    BTW I never quit.

This would include feed back between the TCU and the ECU to modify engine timing (pull timing) and boost at the moment of a gear shift in the transmission. This would momentarily decrease horsepower and torque and, therefore, the literal impact on the auto transmission internals. Not as good as a standard but certainly a strategy to let the ZF 4HP18 live a bit longer.

IF MTM had just left the TCU alone, the way you probably did when you went Stage 1 or Stage 1+ back when, they would not have put their lovely MTM label on the TCU.

    Sorry.

No such modifications are done in the trans.
