Carpet goes on top of everything. Only held in place by the 3 fixings

Just about to fit the carpet but still a bit confused. The fold over is clear I fully understand that.

But does the carpet fold under the metal cover so it is clamped along the full width or on top of the cover and only held in place by the three bolts.

Fold your rear seats down. Place the carpet face down on the seat backs and screw in the fixings. Hinge the carpet over the correct way into the rear. Screws are covered.... Carpet in.

Sorry but how are the bolt hidden when you put the bolt through the carpet and bolt it down.

    Can you post a photo?

I was just typing the same thing!

Don't over tighten them though, mine have been in and out so many times that the hole the screws go into are now ever so slighlty too big.

Yes, the reinforced strip is folded under so the bolt heads are hidden when the carpet is down.

Petrol tank securing and carpet securing

In the picture you can see three securing bolts (one missing) and the carpet with three holes which align with the securing holes.

Is the carpet meant to be clamped by these securing bolts?
