I am curious whether or not aftermarket pistons have any ill affect on the M232 knock control assuming a close CR.

              Thank You prj!

Back in the day I was planning ecu solution for my RS2, but I wasn't too happy with any aftermarket options available. Then I saw some first threads on M2.3.2 disassembly here by prj and I got inspired to try that. I have never been a professional programmer and this was my first disassembly, so in the beginning it was not easy.

Nowadays I run E85, own tune, tweaks in the ecu code (ie. coldstart/warmup for e85, logging,...), etc. My ecu surely is nothing compared to prj's solution, but in my eyes my motronic beats every aftermarket solution. And it came for free with the car.

It's been a hell of a ride. Thanks for the inspiration and tips you have given.

prj, if you ever visit the Greater Helsinki and need a dinner or just a beer, feel free to contact.

Also I want to thank every contributor on those old M2.3.2 threads.

You can probably implement your code tweaks into my ROM if you need SD solution.
Not sure how good/bad your logging solution is. Did you log from both chips?

Also, I will commit my *.idb files soon, maybe something useful for you.

Maybe is funny - will be useful. The compare of the know from the RS2 also helps alot for other engines motronics.

I have had good luck with my maf. Because I'm using 8A0907551C base binary your idb would be nice. No need to spend excess time mapping addresses and comparing functions. Also it would be nice to see how to use Ida properly. I have my own documentation spread here and there. Idb, excel sheets, notepads, xdf, ...

I log both chips. I haven't yet disassembled your binaries but I think that the base ideology is somewhat similar. I have been influenced by your "valuespam" code and winlog screenshot. I don't have fallback to original diag/logging, it's pretty useless.

Could anybody share the RS2+ map based on the prj research please? Do not want to reinvent the wheel. Thanks a lot. I do not actually car if it is for gasoline or E85.

Very good work, prj! Forgetting the asm internals is a huge problem... Your wiki style documentation is very good and i hope it will still grow.

                              Regards,

When I found this thread, I felt compelled to reply with sincere thanks to PRJ for sharing this stuff - what a great way to start the year. I have promised myself to spend more time here this year. I missed the whole of 2017 for one reason or another so I have already exceeded last years contribution of zero posts. Anyway - this is a brilliant initiative from the forums most expert I5T tuner.
