Correct, it fouls on the downpipe. Clearance is about 3mm, but as soon as you drive it rubs and knock and sounds awful. You could cut and grind it off if you are keen and have the welding skills...

Definetly yes for slant/inline R4 & R5 engine: different amount of factory-welded braces for gearbox, FWD cars have less.
Newertheless V6 FWD subframe has 2 such braces like a quattro one. But not sure that FWD V6 subframe is the same as Quattro V6 one. OEM partnumbers differ. Perhaps, height of one brace is other.

I had read the v6 front subframe could be used with a 6 speed box, but I amd sure fataudi80 was selling a v6 front subframe because it would need modded it fit his aby.

I stand corrected, good to know the rear ARB was fitted to more models than the S2 only

My 7A is early 1990 and has rear ARB. It was only the really early ones, 1988 & 1989 that did not. As above, there was a VIN number break point when they all had them

ETKA says, all ACQ-s since VIN L 003 682 have RARB, so some (late) 7A-s may have it and all V6-s definetly have it.

I have ACQ NG L 016 XXX with RARB.

Great so for the rear I will need an S2 (3b or ABY) because by the sound of it they are exactly the same?

What about front is a V6 one the same as an ABY?

Quatritto thanks for the offer but at the moment I am only sorting out my very very long parts list

    Thanks guys
