In this picture the ball joints are on the correct control arm & looking from above, the front of the car would be at the bottom of the picture.

The pics of the control arms mounted that I have on my phone are taking too long to load.

Hmm my mistake the picture with the balljoint fitted incorrectly is the one I was referering to as its got a pressed type balljoint fitted not the correct type as fitted to your wishbones as in the first on carpet picture, just realised you said its not my (your) pcture.
That's the "dodgy" pic!!

The pressed arm type balljoints your using are OK but they never look as strong as the cast arm balljoints with their extra vertical cast ribs.Leave a comment:

That's the way they're fitted, now......at last!In the first picture on the carpet on the thread (with the original correct type forged arm balljoints) the lefthand wishbone is for the right side and the right hand wishbone is for the left side ineffect the bottom of the picture repesents the front of the car if that makes sense.

Thanks for confirming this Dave. Mega confusing for me as I had the pressed type on so didn't know how it should look.......the above pic is very misleading.Leave a comment:

John,
Your first photo should be on a plain light coloured carpet.
It would help encourage more replies.
I think you have the correct ball joints, as regards which size, I found it become more obvious when you offer up the wishbone and also offer up the ball joints also. The correct ball joints have a strengthening web at the edge of the balljoint the way your ones do, compared to the ones for pressed wishbones.
Hopefully somebody posts photos of their car's forged wishbones.
Keep at it, as the forged ones are better and way cooler than the pressed ones.
The same goes for the upper forged ones on the back of a saloon / avant.

Its definitely the right side wishbone ( as sat in car - osf for UK) but its got the left side balljoint fitted to it, just checked under my own S2. balljoint pivot is more in the centre, so must face back not forward when mounted on the wishbone.Leave a comment:

Mine have the knurled bits and the ribs?
