Did a rebuild and 5 stud conversion on the tdi, everything except the inner cv's, rack and inner steering arm ends have been replaced for new. Since its been on the road it's always had play in the struts. When you jack it up the whole strut, arms, driveshafts the lot move on what seemed like the top mount and/or rack.
Drives like it has play in the suspension, tramlines alot (Wheels are 8" 205mm tyre et30 - not the issue) a bump will pull the car whatever direction.
I read someone used v6 driveshafts, but when I did the conversion found the v6q cv's fit on the tdi driveshafts.
So my question is, are there different driveshaft lengths? Thinking a the tdi could have slightly shorter driveshafts hence the above issues. Seems too much play to be top mounts/rack....
