You know it based on what?
Strongest variant is the Wide & Flexible mainshaft of later 01E boxes. AFAIK 5 speed 01E boxes are only on I5 engined AAN's, meaning narrow 1st gear and non flexible mainshaft = weakest version of them. Later 5 speed versions *might* have had wide 1st and non-flexible mainshaft = still weaker than flexible mainshaft. The latest would be 1995 Italian market I5 UrS6, they still got the 5 speed boxes.
Please help, gearbox Audi s6 2.2T

your plan is good but that is lot of work!
my friend have DQT (a6 2.5 tdi) on his S2 with 2.7bi-turbo 780hp+nitro
don't forget this is 10 second car. and now after 2 years of drag race he killed 1. gear.
gearbox is stock.
good thing at that box is that you can cruise 200km/h at 3100rpm.. they are very economic.
just thing about that.
I will put the same box at my s8

i think I will try to do 1 thing, fix my 5 speed gearbox and add 6 gear into it from a6c4 103kw. then will be awesome gearbox . because i kno that 5 speed gearbox is tronger than 6 speed gearbox

In theory, yes. I provided the ProCon-Ten post link for others to read, not just you.
Good luck finding a good 6 spd 01E transmission.
Strongly suggest that you don't drag race the car.
OR, if you do, don't cry when the transmission breaks (first gear spalling).

mine is urs6 , and i think urs6 is without proconMe? I'd go with the a good DSY or EDU from a C5 A6 2.7tt (less likely to be abused than a B5 S4 2.7tt transmission). The only issue is you loose the ProConTen bracket if you have an UrS4 with ProConTen. You swap all the UrS shift linkage to the DSY/EDU transmission. Minor mounting "dowel" (guide) issue during the install. Other than that, you get a 0.68:1 top gear plus a closer between 2nd and top gear.

tranny code = ratio???
AND the right ratio in front diffNone of the 01E transmissions are truely suitable for drag racing. Some will break a little later, some sooner. But they will all break. An UrS4/S6 is a heavy machine.
The six speeds still have the same 1st and 2nd gears as the five speeds. The CRB from the RS2 is probably the strongest transmission because of the design of the shaft that has 1st gear on it. Many people have swapped to the EDU or DSY transmissions from the 2.7 twin turbo V6s (C5 A6 or B4 S4). They have a taller 6th gear (lower RPMs on the highway).
Here is a list of some of the info (its missing the CBL 6 spd info):

I'm glad that site has been re-hosted, I thought we'd lost a load of valuable info there

they also have a taller 5th gear as well if i'm not mistaken.None of the 01E transmissions are truely suitable for drag racing. Some will break a little later, some sooner. But they will all break. An UrS4/S6 is a heavy machine.
