Porsche 996 caliper bolt on.

Hi guys,

Quick question that I need some help on. I am in the middle of gathering together all the parts for the 996 upgraid and was told that I needed RS2 Caliper carriers to mount the calipers on well I went ahead and ordered them from VAG parts and they are not long enough by about 1cm What now? I am stuck and dont know what to do!!! Over to you guys any ideas?

Either you don't have the S2 strut, you don't have the right carriers or you don't have the right monoblock caliper.

The 996/Boxster S brembo calipers fit perfectly on the RS2 carriers, which fit perfectly to the S2 strut.

There are two numbers I can see which are 996.351.429 or 20.7310.03

You'll be needing some custom carriers mate, not RS2s.

Who do i see where do I go? Anyone got any contact numbers of people that could whip me up some custom carriers? I thought that these were going to bolt straight on.

Can i still use the A8 324 by 30mm disks or do I need different ones? Can somone give me a full list of parts that I will need to compleat this mod. I currently have all the parts needed for the 996 bolt on mod and need to know which parts to send back and where to sourse replacements. Will the RS2 brake lines still fit?

If you have all the other parts, then it maybe easier to get 996 callipers.

IIRC the GT3 callipers are designed to be used with a 330x34mm disk. So they may not be best suited to the A8 disks.

I thought the 996 callipers had the same mounting dimensions as the 993TTs. But I'm not sure. I didn't go for the direct bolt on with my brakes.
