Mini-project ~ alpinweiss blackout!

After discussing it in another thread I've started to de-chrome the alpinweiss. I've got the front grille dismantled with the surround and rings all prepped and painted gloss black but I've decided that they really need a coat of satin black. I've also painted the S2 badge in black... controversial but it looks pretty good IMO! Just pulled the rather tired badges off the rear for the same treatment although they might get the alpinweiss treatment for that ultra-subtle look!

Shame that blackout rear lights aren't freely available

Do what some others have done (wabtheking iirc) and spray your rear one's

Thats different, one thing like you said the badge on the front in white would be a good laugh and look nice?

Nah, badge might get replaced, it was knackered so nothing lost by having a go at painting it. Might do the rear rings white but the badge isn't too bad so might replacce it and sell this one on Ebay. Badge and rings needed to come off anyway as there was a lot of discolouration behind them that needed attention.

Grille needs a bit of attention now, might have to paint it too as it faded compared to the freshly painted surround and rings

Removed the rear badges, well all bar the 'ring sticker. Looks a lot neater but I have a bit of a soft spot for the S2 badge so I think it's going back on. Audi rings are staying off for now though.

Thinking is that you don't drive round the GP circuit so why advertise!

Actually if you go at Easter they sometimes open the GP and include it in the lap which is brill, so I feel ok about my sticker being intact
