  • Any interest in S4/S6 Delrin rear subframe bushes?

As a urS4 or S6 owner do you realise that the rear subframe bushes are NLA from Audi? These bushes are prone to deteriation allowing the rear subframe to move around significantly as well as making it difficult to get the suspension properly aligned. The only OEM solution is to purchase a complete rear crossmember from Audi at a cost of many £££!!

However, after searching for a solution for over a year I have recently been talking to an enthusiast from the US who has developed his own bushes made from Delrin (plastic). These obviously have an uprated performance similar to polyurethene but aren't as harsh as alluminium bushes. Price should be in the region of $100 US per set of 4. I will be buying some but I thought I should offer it to other S4 and S6 owners. We may get a small discount depending on how many sets are ordered at once but I have yet to discuss this properly with Dan the developer.

Seriously interested parties please say yey...

Not soon enough, at least for me anyway!! I have since been talking to someone about possibly supplying these in the UK. The ones in the US aren't a finished product yet so it will take a little while to source them wherever they are from. I have a feeling if we can get these done in the UK then there may well be an alluminium option too but let's not get carried away. It's good to know that there is significant interest in these though. Hopefully that will help speed up the process a little!

                  Some news...

I'm sending my spare subframe off to a specialist next week so that he can use it as a template to develop some uprated bushes. We are both keen to get something sorted ASAP so hopefully I should have some further news in the next week or so.

Thanks everyone for their interest and patience!!

Hi there, we might be interested but are new to s6 ownership so not quite sure which bushes you are talking about. If you could post a pic of where they go that would be great.

                    Many thanks

Great news!!!... Kev (bambridge) has been making excellent progress on the bushes after receiving my spare subframe. I should have a set of bushes for testing within the next couple of weeks. Here are some pics to keep you interested!
