  • fitting pedal box to ur or s2

I am thinking of fitting a pedal box to the rally ur [rhd] due to problems with the current set up with a modded standard pedal box and twin master cylinders fittef in engine bay on bulk head which are being cooked by turbo /exhaust heat and now being made worst still by more heat from running anti lag [ came 1st in class and 7th o/a last sunday] . im interested in advice on any pedal boxes which have been fitted to ur/s2 cars rhd , is there a of the shelf box that is easily fitted,, bearing in mind the inner wheel arch is write in the way under throttle pedal

What about something like this? Would like to see pictures of one fitted to a car to be sure the cylinders arnt in the way of feet. But at least they aren't near the engine.

Apparently they sell a plate to cover the master cylinders on that floor mounted unit. I have asked for drawings for these and will measure up at the weekend.

I agree that the urq throttle is right over beside the wheel arch so space is tight but I think with a bit of tweaking with a grinder and welder on the pedal box it will fit.

Here is the helpfull email I git back from mark at OBP.

For the OBPVIC15 here is the drawing: http://www.obpltd.com/index.php?rout...ownloads_id=20. Please note, this drawing is not for the specific OBPVIC21, it is for the OBP0003PRC. This OBP0003PRC has the same box as the OBPVIC21, the pedals are different however. If you would like the pedal dimensions, please let me know and I will manually do this for you.

For the OBPVIC21 the drawing is under this link: http://www.obpltd.com/index.php?rout...ownloads_id=22. Again, please note the drawing is not specifically for the OBPVIC15, it is for the OBP0003PRTC. Again, the box is the same however the pedals are different.

The part number for the Heel Rest/Cover plate for the OBPVIC15 is OBP0339: http://www.obpltd.com/Alloy-Master-C...r_name=obp0339. The dimensions of this are: Height = 80 mm / Width = 270 mm / Length = 300 mm.

I'm in northern ireland UK so yep a deal is a possibility. I will look at mine at the weekend too but it would be good for your man to give his opinion too. A potential issue is the steering colum....

                  bias pedal box

I think the 2nd option is best for our cars and the wheel arch wont be an issue as the pedal swings the same way as standard audi pedal box , one question do you know the weight of the audi pedal box , hope to save some weigt with new pedal box

I don't know the stock setup weight but with all its weird linkages and rods these boxes must be no heavier. With no servo how heavy are your brakes? I'm thinking of a remote servo system maybe just for the front. Maybe mount the remote servo in the rear or maybe infront of the passenger foot rest.

Tilton have brought out a entry level pull style pedal box this will get your masters under your feet and help with your COG at the same time. It's alittle more money than a push type but it's very nice!

That's similar to one of the OBP ones

for the last 10 years ive run no servo . we made our own bias adjuster with the standard audi pedal box and fitted the 2 brake cylinders in engine bay on bulk head , we run 6 pot calipers front and rear and the car stops very well with just normal pedal effort. most the time its total fine but on very hot days and now that we have just started running anti lag things are getting much hotter, to the point I lost all brakes and when we bleed them we couldn't even grab hold of the rubber bleed pipe as the fliud was so hot, even had steam and that was 15 minutes after stage finish

Ok that's hot. Have you thought of some sorta fluid circulation system?
