Well ladies and gents I’ve been MRC’d………and it’s awesome!!
I took Doug up on his ‘big turbo kit’ offer and let the guys have my motor for a few days.
I gave them a ’93 aby which was running pretty well but showing it’s age – they gave me back a ’93 aby that’s still showing it’s age in some ways but BLOODY HELL what have they done to that engine! It’s an absolute beast
………..but only when you want it to be!
I can totter around in it just like it was my old car – in fact I got the same mpg on the run back up to Glasgow as on the way down and that was cruising at 80-90 pretty much all the way (let’s not discuss what peak velocity was at the moment
).
However…..
Press the ‘loud’ pedal and all hell breaks loose! Above about 3½ it’s phenomenal! Pulls like a (big) train till about 5½ wher it takes a small breath before leaping off again all the way to the red line! The guys reckon its realising about 400bhp now – and it feels like it!
Will try and get some graphs in new year to see what it’s doing but to be honest I don’t care!! Took my brother out in it yesterday – he runs a Maserati Coupe – and he didn’t think there was much in it other than the fact that he cant put the power down in the wet…..guess what – I can!!!
If you’re looking to get any kind of performance enhancements, tuning remapping and the like then the MRC guys have GOT to be your first port of call.
