    Intermittent/no boost SOLVED BY MRC

Thought I would post the solution to my intermittent/no boost problem to add to the knowledge here and to thank MRC

My RS2 started to give intermittent boost on WOT which made the car hesitate around 3500rpm and sometimes boost fully and sometimes just getting wastegate spring only boost (technical expertise courtesy of Mihnea and Doug)
Also evidence of overfuelling with poor mpg and black soot on exhaust( NO SMOKE).

No recent work on car that could have triggered this and after talking to Doug decided that boost leak likely (original hoses).

Went to MRC and no boost leaks and no other obvious causes. At this stage on test drive getting no boost.
Back to vagcom, WGFV check revealed it worked intermittently (one of the items I had replaced).
On checking the wiring to the WGFV the cause became clear as the wire which had nearly parted company with the plug came away on removal. The cause was the positioning of the wires around the WGFV which caused rubbing on the wire where they are exposed near the plug.

This may have been posted before but as the solution was a simple when traced worth adding to the check list when you have a similar problem.

As ever thanks to Doug and Mihnea @ MRC. Few people have the wealth of expertise these days. Despite the distance for me I will be back and would recommend MRC to all.

    Cheers again
