Popped these on last week and they certainly look a bit more up to the job I have to say. They are made from a harder density material compared to both the street density mounts i had in for less than 6 months before they started knocking and the OEM Blues.

Am hoping these are going to last a while but its great that everything is now silent up front again

Also found the source of another wierd clunk.....the bolt holding the steering damper onto the end of the rack mount for the inner tie rod end for the steering arms had worked loose, nipped it up and steering much less lairy generally.

I popped in this week and picked up a pair of the top mounts after the usual chat with Pete , they look sturdy, sturdier than the track density I bought, hopefully change them soon enough, s2driver uk I had the same issue witht he damper bolts, need to recheck mine as well

I would be interested in feed back on these as my car knocks a lot with them, and was thinking of going back to OEM

You have Meyle HD mounts and its knocking,i take it you didn't buy them from me?
I was saying to Jamo when he dropped in that i out of interest i asked my Meyle rep if they had any warranty issues with these HD mounts and he said "non to my knoledge"

same here, but I changed the suspension at the same time so can't tell if it's the HD mounts yet and will be a little while before I know.

Yes I did buy them from you, Its seems to only be the right hand one or at least thats the one that makes the most noise

When I get a moment I should remove it for inspection, but it looks ok from the top with the nut and washer off

You know what... as I am about to do my steering properly... may as well renew the top mounts and strut bolts now...The rod ends are fresh and the bone bushes are polyflex. I have detected the odd clunk lately and it has all the echoes of top mount badness - some OE blues in there a few years back.

How are people finding these HD mounts from Meyle ?

anyone got the HD's installed on their car currently and driven on them a bit? I'm interested to see the gap in the retaining cap at rest and steering centred. I have them installed on mine at the moment and they look to have compressed somewhat and I have the dreaded clunk. Be very interested to compare mine against users to see if the cup is sat as proud from the body as mine are.

Had high hopes of the HD's - need to have a poke about to check drop links and other mount points but head says top mount - already

I fitted a set last night, to cure a light knock or clunk and they were also an advisory last year on the MOT.

Well the light clunk or knock is still there which only shows itself on speed bumps or parked speed road imperfections. On the move it seems to be fine.

I have noticed the front seems more compliant now. The top mounts I took off were in fact indentical Meyle green HD mounts but massively compressed compared the new ones.

I had the car MOT'ed this morning and it passed with flying colours (no advisories) so the mounts must be okay, and perhaps the knocking is coming from elsewhere, completely unrelated to the top mounts.

Jade has just informed me it was his Subframe bush that was knocking not the HD Strut tops

Been a long while since this thread was posted on, does anyone have any feedback as to how good/bad these top mounts are?

They last about twice as long as OE ones, so about 1500 miles - still rubbish
