Article on 1000 BHP Group S Quattro

    Hey folks,

(Posted this in the depths of another thread, but thought it deserves its own thread so more can see it. I will leave the pages on the links below for a week or so to allow all to download.)

I finally got around to scanning the article I promised on the prototype Group S Audi Quattro, which had 1000BP . It is criminal that Audi never let this beast loose in the world

The files are quite large to maintain some quality from my crappy scanner....

Yup, those are pics of the same mid engines test bed that Audi were using whilst they were still designing the sportier (and less URQ looking) Group S body. In fact the one on the left is actually in the article

Didn't half hit it with an ugly stick, didn't they?!!!!

Still, if it had been allowed to perform, I think the true beauty would have shone through...

One of the biggest NACA ducts (sort of) I've ever seen too.

                      Nice!

The Apollo is a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive two-seater with a carbonfibre monocoque chassis. Powered by a 650bhp twin-turbo version of Audi’s 4.2 V8 engine and a six-speed sequential gearbox, it should hit 60mph in 3.0secs and go on to an estimated top speed of 223mph. It will go on sale later this year priced from around £110,000.

What about the Audi Avus? What happened about that?

                        Year: 1991 Engine: 6.0 litre 60v 12 cylinder
Power: 509 bhp Transmission: 6-speed manual
                        0-60: 3 secs Top Speed: 211 mph

That was a bit of a beast!

Wasnt trying to just name other audi super cars. I was trying to show the amazing resemblance it had to the other mid engined audi in the article!
Same kind of super race car just bought up to date.
The names Gumpert and Apollo are mentioned in the article and thats what made me think of that and saw the amazing resemblance!

The audi AVUS think of the new Audi R9!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!
