I had to do a trip to Poland this week, not with the s2 but with my temporary a4 (2003) avant tdi 130hp automatic, loaded with a lot of parts. I must say it was quicker then I expected:
From Rotterdam to Szcezin(Polish border) I had an average of 132 km an hour.
gotta love those trips across germany. i managed around 145Km/h average speed from brussels to hannover.
if you really want to blast, check out the road between Saarbrucken and Trier. almost the whole thing is unrestricted, no road works and nicer scenery than the rest of germany.
The A2 out of Berlin is also nice, 4 lanes with pine woods on both sides of the road
Averaged 160KPH and cruised at around 175KPH in a Ford Focus TDI rental this week, when I went to visit MidnightBlueS2 whilst on business in Belgium.
Funniest thing was when I rang him to find out where I was. I told him I was passing a junction and he said 'slow down, you are 800m from a speed camera' How's that for timing? I drove for 80Km at 175Km in a 120Km limit and then get lucky at the first speed camera
I just forget and drive in MPH when the limits are in KPH :mischeif:
Good to meet you David

Till now my record is 145 kmp an hour from rotterdam to the polish border. The problem is there are a lot places where they repair the road so you cant driver faster as 80. last time I even got a speeding ticket. I drove 113 km, 80 was aloud, anther advantage of germany in only costed 35 euro in holland this will cost you 120 euro.(i know)
Getting everything sorted out for my 5++ hp project
