    tuned 2.0T FSI

Bet this baby screams like a banshee. the A4 with the Golf GTi engine (i.e. the 2.0T FSI) tuned up to 350-odd bhp.

why not just by a secondhand S4, though.....?

      Hello,

B&B is a f****** company, when something is damaged at the engine, B&B will not pay for the repair, but a consultant said that the damage is of the B&B tuning but they will not pay. MTM or Oetinger is the real company for such things but not B&B.

My dad drives an A6 wich is tuned by B&B, never had any quarrels with the company or with their work to the car.
I believe they deliver very good work and some impressive tuning...
        Just my two cents...

Surely engine tuning is normally done at the car owner's own risk, unless performed by "official" tuners of that make e.g. prodrive, AMG etc etc? I know nothing about these things, but i would have thought that tuning an engine a lot without also uprating a lot of the componentry, both within the engine and around it, would be asking for trouble. I have always felt that car companies probably build their cars with a certain power because that is a safe value where no components should fail under most conditions. That is, they are not "pushing" componentry at all. If you tune, you may stay well within the reasonable tolerances of the machinery, but you do go closer to the limit than the manufacturer felt was wise (and lets face it, they usually do a fair bit of testing!), and thus there is an element of risk attached. After all, no one FORCES you into tuning a car. Its the same as clocking a computer - relatively easy to do but risks attached.

I know i've over-simplified things here - not accounting for manufacturers de-tuning cars deliberately for assorted reasons etc.....

Someone who knows about this stuff should be talking, not me. Sorry!

B&B gives warranty on their tuning work...

From the site: All electronic increases in performance on TDI- or Turbo-engines include a report of the Technical Control Board (TÜV) for self-entry, as well as an extensive B&B warranty up to 2 years / 100.000 km (cf. B&B warranty conditions).

The warranty is on the tuning and maybe the ECU but not on the engine... ask me how I know it, I know loads of german tuners.

B&B use the same guy for gas engines as Oettinger, also ask me how I know it

Sorry, poor phraseology on my part - but that's exactly what i meant Mihnea! It doesn't surprise me that a tuner would guarantee their own work, but i would NOT expect them to guarantee the indirect consequences to other components that they did not touch. I would have thought that that is the owner's risk, personally.
