    Cat C / D cars - how much less?

With so many S2s ( and RS2s ) for sale lately that have been either Cat D, or even Cat C, write offs, I'm interested in knowing what you guys think the value of the car is when properly repaired in comparison with one which is HPI clear.
I have a friend in the motor trade ( deals in Porsches ) who reckons no more than 50% of value of undamaged vehicle.
Also, apparently even if you have the vehicle Autoligned, many people will still regard it as a write off, and value it accordingly - but at least know that it has been properly repaired.
    Any thoughts?

I guess it depends on if you're looking at a vehicle to sell on or looking for a vehicle for yourself.
If for yourself, you can get the CAT C or D stuff removed thru an approved check, this will also give peace of mind as they will have confirmed the car is roadworthy and safe to use.

I asked the same question before and found a link for an approved checker.

Cat D is nothing on an S2 could have just been a broken headlight (i kid you not)

Cat C is only worth about 50-75% value

My wife's Porsche 944 was written off (not sure if it was Cat C or D) we got it inspected by Autolign and have not had any problems with insuring it or getting an agreed value.

          interesting thread

Interesting, I ve just bought a cat d ur quattro.
Was going to break it but I ve repaired worse so its staying in one piece.
Uneconomic for insurance to pay for a repair doesn t mean it is uneconomic for a restorer etc according to a guide I found. www.mycarcheck.com £9.95
